Senmuth is a project born in 2004 from the ashes of Anima (another creature of this musician) and it seems a continuation as a guiding thread of a complex and indefinable work, started long time ago. Resolute, it seems to continue on its way careless of the world around him: this project has much more than sixty active full length, a really big/severe sign of insanity, feature that couldn't abduct the attention and the sympathy Antichristian Commando. "Weird" was released in 2008 as a self production but was officially released in 2009 by Casus Belli Musica. The nine tracks of this album has each one name of a specific rune, as I don't think that is a case the length of the songs, alternating between six and nine minutes (two numbers with a specific meaning); only "Uruz", "Kano" and "Perth" lasts six minutes consecutively, another not casualness? A wanted 666? The suppositions may be different as the interpretations, my mind can only approach to the thought that feed the concept of this album but its deepest secrets will belong only and always to the author. As he has accustomed us in his great discography, one again the conceptual aspect of this material refers to a purely philosophical and esoteric thoughts, united with archaic components and chaos, trespassing sometimes in inner and mystical feelings and emotions. It seems indeed that often Senmuth uses his own music as a door to spiritual journeys roaming without halt on the Earth, between present and past, in its ancient history through the Universe, between parallel dimensions. After the East and the Egypt, this vision seems to have landed its attention in Europe, precisely in Scandinavia among the Nordic shamanism, its traditions and indeed the runes and the mysteries that still hide. Articulated and non-immediate assimilation is the structure of the compositions which see the fusion of different and contrasting elements: sounds belonging to industrial and to electronic music are combined with gothic atmospheres surrounded by intriguing symphonies with ethnic melodies that are going to weave to the distorted and/or acoustic guitars. An original mixture, enough personal and innovative. Another important piece of an infinite work, between modernity and ancient splendors that truly deserves a chance. Setherial Legion

Co rusz docieraja do nas nowe nagrania black-, folk- czy death metalowych kapel, ale takze troche ciekawych projektow preferujacych dzwieki eksperymentalne, elektroniczne i ambitne. SENMUTH to jednoosobowy twor, ktorego pomyslodawca jest multi-instrumentalista Walerij "Senmuth" Av. Za nasza wschodnia granica jest znany glownie ze swojego zamilowania do tworzenia muzyki do filmow dokumentalnych o tak zwanych "zakazanych historycznych faktach" na temat starozytnych cywilizacji, ostatnio zainteresowal sie rowniez mitologia nordycka. Dowod tego mamy na albumie "Weird", ktory jest zbudowany na kanwie runow i tytuly tych instrumentalnych kompozycji sa nazwami poszczegolnych symboli: od "Dagaz" do "Ehwaz". Muzyczne wplywy siegaja jednak nieco szerzej: od tradycyjnej el-muzyki VANGELISA, poprzez folkowe i etniczne motywy, az po melodyjny ambient z uzyciem gitary elektrycznej. "Weird" stanowi jednak pewna zamknieta calosc, ktora opowiada dzwiekami pewna wyimaginowana historie, a kazdy sluchacz moze w tej wedrowce podazyc myslami tam, gdzie zechce. Przestrzenne, rytmiczne i stosunkowo melodyjne, a przy tym zlozone i zgrabnie zaaranzowane utwory plyna przez ponad godzine, budujac majestatyczny, a czasem lekko zadumany klimat, ktory czesto wchodzi w rejony eksplorowane przez przywolywanego juz mistrza elektroniki z Grecji - VANGELISA. Niektore fragmenty sa tak samo magiczne, jak chocby sciezka dzwiekowa do filmu "1492 - Conquest To Paradise", co przekonuje przy okazji do tego, ze muzyk SENMUTH ma rzeczywiscie za soba spore doswiadczenie w komponowaniu muzyki filmowej, typowo ilustracyjnej. Nie przesadza z wieloplanowoscia swoich utworow, nie udziwnia ich przesadnie i operuje glownie klawiszami, samplami i przeroznymi instrumentami perkusyjnymi, czasem uzywajac tez przesterowanej gitary. Ale jesli nawet jest to muzyka do wymyslonego filmu, to jest to obraz pelen tajemnic, zagadek i ezoteryki, tylko z pozoru czytelny i zrozumialy dla kazdego. Jesli tak jawi sie pozostale 60 plyt, ktore juz nagral ten muzyk, to naleza mu sie wielkie brawa za kreatywnosc, ale i za umiejetnosc stworzenia wlasnego stylu i zgrabne poruszanie sie w jego ramach.
